Tomb Raider Anniversary Information

The adventure begins when Lara is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. As Lara searches ancient tombs and isolated worlds that have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, she discovers that she is not alone. Not only has she awoken their fearsome guardians but there are others desperate to learn the Scion's dark secrets.

Celebrate and commemorate ten years of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a new action adventure inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game, one of the greatest action adventure games of all time.

Tomb Raider Anniversary Collectors Edition Information

Eidos has released an exclusive three-disc Collector's Edition pack for the European release of Tomb Raider: Anniversary on PlayStation 2 and PC, which will be available alongside the traditional retail versions of the game while stocks last, it will be available exclusively from GAME store in the UK.

Along with the game, the Collector's Edition includes: The Tomb Raider Story: A Ten Year Retrospective Documentary, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Legend Exclusive Soundtrack mix, Gallery of Tomb Raider artwork and collection of trailers from the past and present.

Locations:Peru - Lara is hired by Jacqueline Natla to find the Scion hidden in the Tomb of Qualopec, hidden in the Incan city of Vilcambamba. Enemies from the original level included: T-Rexes, Raptors, Bears, wolves, Bats and an appearance from Larson.


Greece - After interrogating Larson, Lara finds herself in Greece, inside St. Francis Folly to find the second part of the Scion. Levels include: St. Francis Folly, Colosseum, Palace Midas, The Cistern, and the Tomb of Tihocan. Enemies from the original level included: gorillas, rats, lions, crocodiles, and many appearances of Pierre Du Pont.

Egypt - Lara tracks the last piece of the Scion to Egypt, hidden in the City of Khamoon. Levels include: City of Khamoon, Obelisk of Khamoon, and the Sanctuary of the Scion. Enemies from the original level included: panthers, mummy mutants (which bear the resemblance of mummified panthers), crocodiles, Atlantean mutants, winged mutants, centaur mutants, and the final appearance of Larson.

Atlantis - Lara follows Natla to the Great Pyramid of Atlantis to retrieve, then destroy the Scion. Levels include: Natla's Mines, Atlantis, and the Great Pyramid. Enemies from the original level included: Natla's henchmen, Atlantean mutants, winged mutants, centaur mutants, giant mutant, and the final appearance of Natla.

Extra Level: Lara's Home - PSW was the first source to confirm the appearance of Lara's Home in Tomb Raider: Anniversary. The magazine even states that it is "the biggest, most detailed mansion yet".

Anniversary is an enhanced remake of the original 1996 platform best-seller, built using the Tomb Raider: Legend engine. It's not a 1:1 remake, but it follows the same basic plot and builds on it. It's supposed to feature the original game key moments and all the levels present on the original game rebuilt from scratch to match with the more dynamic new abilites of Lara.

Tomb Raider: Legend composer Troels B. Folmann has returned for Anniversary, and a rearranged version of the main theme of the original game was made available when the site first opened. Anniversary features the ring inventory from the first game.

Tomb Raider Anniversary Gameplay Info

From the Anniversary Trailer, Keeley Hawes will be reprising her role from Tomb Raider: Legend as Lara Croft, while IMDB has revealed Natla's voice actress: Jennifer Hale. Zip and Alister did not return. There is no headset. Lara won't have a PDA, PLS or Binoculars, but the grapple has returned in the form of a hook grapple. It is not magnetic.


Lara is using her classic pistols (Browning 9MMs). Dual Uzis and the shotgun will make a return. Enemies include Bats, Wolves, Bears, Black Panthers, Crocodiles, Raptors, the T-Rex, and the mutants and monsters from the Atlantis levels. They are significantly more difficult to defeat as they will attack in groups.

The Lara model has been upgraded with more polygons and has inherited a few new moves, a pole-hopping move where Lara can balance on narrow surfaces.Also from a recent trailer, it can be seen that Lara can run across walls while swinging from her hook grapple. The levels are bigger and more detailed than they were in the original, players will be able to discover more than just one path for Lara to take. Players should expect a minimum of 15 hours of gameplay, significantly longer than Tomb Raider: Legend.

Interactive cutscenes will make a return The auto-grab function from Tomb Raider Legend will be optional. Finding secrets will play an important part in the game, like in the original Tomb Raider. Several costumes might be unlockable, like in Tomb Raider Legend. Journalists from the PSM3 magazine were able to see the swimsuit costume from Tomb Raider II during a press demonstration of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. An unlockable director's commentary with Toby Gard has been confirmed.
